THE SAME GOSPEL

 

1.   Peter and Paul were two very different men.

2.   Peter was a fisherman; a man who was accustomed to working with his hands.

3.   Paul had been a Pharisee.

4.   Peter was married (Mt. 8:14); Paul was not.

5.   Peter spent a lot of time among Jews; Paul’s work was more directed towards Gentiles.

6.   Peter was an early disciple; Paul became a believer much later.

 

THESE MEN WERE VERY DIFFERENT BUT THEY WERE ALSO VERY SIMILAR BECAUSE THEY PREACHED THE SAME GOSPEL.  

 

A.  Today some ask, “What does ‘your church’ believe?”

B.  People call me up and ask what is taught at this congregation.

C.  We live in a time when people teach a variety of gospels.

D.  Tonight I want to demonstrate that Peter and Paul preached the same gospel.

E.  The easiest way to do this is to use a chart.

F.  Let’s look at the gospel Peter preached.

2.  Peter and Paul preached the same gospel.

3.  Preaching any other gospel is absolutely forbidden.

4.  Following any other gospel will always be wrong.

5.  Worshipping in any other doctrine than the one given by God is wrong.

6.  Are we familiar with the one gospel preached by Peter and Paul?

7.  Have we become a Christian in the same way that Peter and Paul taught others?

8.  Are we living as Peter and Paul taught?

9.  Are we worshipping as these apostles taught?

10.  If not we would like to help you.

A.  We want to practice the same gospel as the first Christians practiced.

B.  We want to do Bible things in Bible ways.

C.  For those who are not a Christian you can have a conversion experience just like those in the 1st cent.

D.  You can live and worship as a New Testament Christian.
