ashamed” (anepaischuntos) – an adjective found only here in the New
Testament. No shame, guilt; no cause

“Handling
aright” (“rightly dividing,” KJV) – orthotomeo – a verb found
only here. This is a compound word made
up of “orthos” (straight, on line) and “tomos” (cutting). In the LXX it is used in Prov. 3:6 and 11:5
(see the NASB for 11:5). This passage
does not teach “dividing the Old Testament from the New Testament.” It means “guide straight to the goal without
distraction or disruption.” It tells us
our Bible exposition must be truthful and competent. This is a present tense verb.
