The Lord’s Day
1.
Genesis
says God created all things in 6 days and rested on the seventh day, Gen.
1:31-2:2.
2.
Many
years passed and the Hebrew nation came into being.
3.
Jews
worshipped on the “seventh” day (Saturday).
4.
This day
was selected to commemorate their deliverance from Egyptian bondage, Deut.
5:13-15.
5.
We can
identify the day of the Sabbath in at least three ways: Jewish history is one
day.
6.
This was
a part of the Ten Commandments; this day goes back to their
beginning.
7.
Jesus
said He had “kept the Father’s commandments” (Jn. 15:10).
8.
Sabbath keeping was one of
these obligations, and Jesus observed it on the right day. Has continued.
9.
Our
calendars agree with this information; Luke also provides some useful
information.

Compare Ex. 30:8.
15.
We have
a new covenant and this includes a new day to worship.
